so your application of APC was just mist on a terry towel and scrub the area your cleaning?

Yup, it was nothing but APC and it got it truly 100% clean. Talk about a versatile product... Gotta love it!

    Thanks, too

WOW D180 really changed the color of the leather to a nice brown

    Thanks.

I'll be sure to pick up a gallon.

I know what you mean because if you spray it directly onto some surfaces and let it sit it can look as if it bleached the area. If you re-wet the area and scrub it again it goes away.

APC will actually do that on virtually ANY surface.

I usually just spray on the towel to avoid that, and haven't had any issues.

What's the difference between APC, and APC+? I have APC+ on hand, but it is the old blue formula. It can still be had around here for about 10.00 a gallon.

Nice work Mark! We had the opportunity to work on one of these at SEMA back in 2007 and they are stunning cars. Looking forward to seeing pictures of the exterior detail - the paint is really nice on those cars.

    Mark,
The interior looks great. The 50/50 shots really show how dirty the interior was. Great work.

What was in this Bentley was certainly real leather. There was no note specifying not to use chemical cleaners, but regardless, the note from the BMW manual is a safety note... if there is a product that is deemed safe for leather but it is not a leather-only cleaner that doesn't necessarily mean you couldn't use it.

Then again, if you want to play it ultra safe you could stick to a dedicated leather-only cleaner.

Just curious as to what your dilution ratio was on the APC. I've never used it on leather.

    Andy
It was roughly 10:1. I did a mid-session refill so it could be a hair off.

Also note that APC is not quite as strong as APC+, so the APC is moderately safe stuff. Considering I've frequently used APC+ on leather or leather-like substances with no ill-effects, it doesn't worry me.

Could one make the argument that you might remove the "protective" coating on the leather? Sure- but odds are if the seat is dirty enough that you need a cleaner like APC rather than something like D-180 it is probably already shot anyway.

If you think that it is too strong or don't want to take the chance- stick to the dedicated stuff.
