Quite the opposite… the interior is all high quality and high class (which is what Lexus is known for). The soft leather seats are plush yet firm, perforated, and finished off with blue stitching. The door panels are mostly leather (very soft and smooth) combined silver trim and high quality plastics. The center console is carbon fiber with chrome trim and finished off with a very sporty chrome/perforated leather shift knob. This car inside/out is anything but cheap. Lexus didn’t spare one penny when producing this car. If you ask me there isn’t another car out there like it that can combine reputation, quality, speed, reliability, and luxury for less then $60k (which is what this car goes for new). I could only wish to own one… until then I’ll drive his car.

My car has a similar interior, without the carbon fiber center console and the brake pedals, but I've test driven the IS-F and I have to agree with you, it does not seem cheaply done at all to me. In fact, if it were available when I bought my 350, I would've got it instead. The V8 in that bad boy rocks.

I hate the rear carpeted wells though, I find them impossible to clean when you get little leaves or twigs caught up in the carpet fibers.

As for the stacked pipes... they look nice, but they're only for show. They are actually not even connected to the exhaust system (which Lexus took flack for), but I still like the visual. Although didn't Mercedes do that first with their E55? My buddy has one and I can't remember if it's stacked or side by side.

Awesome job! Did you do the engine bay as well? Would love to see that in the future . I'm impressed with the results after m205 as the only polishing step used. And I love the wheel design and color. Anything that resembles those, and the GT-R's (similar design if you catch my drift) are good in my book. It's good to see they went the European route and added carpet-lined wheel wells! Kidding...they are the same wheel wells as my 2009 Civic . But the interior does look a bit better; hopefully the Japanese can catch up a little in that regard to certain details seen in the luxury segment. I bet the owner was happy to see his car after you were through with it!

I actually did the engine... when I finished and posted this thread I realized I never took an "after" picture of the engine so I never posted the "before" picture that I had taken. Oh well, I'll snap a few shots next time.

Actually... they did add carpet on the wheel wells but only on the rear wheel wells. The front ones are standard but he rear wells are lined with carpet. Here is a picture...

Thanks bro! I was loving every minute of it and it seems I might be doing another IS-F soon. My buddy met another IS-F owner the other day at a car meet and the guy loved the way his car looked... so my buddy passed my info on. That's what I love about detailing. Our work sells itself.

Interesting... and new. I have yet to see a luxury sport sedan with stacked (at an angle) exhaust tips. Personally... I love it! I think it totally sets off the back end of the car. Might even be "world's first". The car already has a "world's fastest" 8-speed Sport Direct Shift Transmission. It's the world's fastest shift time for street legal production cars. At 0.1 second, it's faster than a human could ever shift.

awesome car for the money, they had a piece on Top Gear about it, too bad they had to bring the BMW M5 I think, maybe M3, and ruin the parade on it. I would rock it over the BMW though!!! Looks amazing.

Do you think it was the pad selection with the 151 that caused the marring?? Was your polishing done with a rotary or PC??

Top Gear did a piece on the M3 and the IS-F. I saw that episode. The performance numbers put out by both cars are almost identical. So, I wouldn't say BMW ruined anything. Most people I've talked to would pick the IS-F over the M3 anyways. My buddy did... He said he test drove the new M3 along with the new Mercedes C63 AMG and out of the three he still came back to the IS-F.

I think it was either the pad selection or the fact that I used a PC. I don't have a Rotary but I would be curious to see how it would've played out with the polishing pad/D151 on the Rotary instead of the PC. That's why Mike stresses the importance of "test spots". We've seen it so many times where people do an entire car and then say "oops I guess it doesn't look so good after all".

The Lexus looks fabulous! What did you use to dress the interior leather and plastic?

On the leather I used Megs Leather cleaner/conditioner and on the plastics I didn't apply anything. All I did was clean them with APC and a microfiber towel. The finish was so natural and smooth I just left it alone.
