  • Little Work on the Wifes Truck

We'll I have recently gotten back into detailing. I did it for a living during college, and high school. Try to keep the trucks clean, but with limited tools not much I can do. Have hired a couple of hacks to work on mine and the wife's and they did nothing but install new swirl marks for me, so I decided that I would do it myself. So I bought myself a PC and was dying to use it and the only thing I had available at the time was some Swirlx. So I gave it a shot on the wife's truck. Here is the results

    Before

    Here's a 50/50 shot

And this is by far my favorite reflection shot

This a reflection of my truck in the paint on the wifes truck

I have to say I am very impressed with the Mequiar's products. I had always discounted them as consumer products, did not know they even did a professional line until I found this forum. Since this I have ordered myself some 105/205 and purchased a rotary. Also ordered a bunch more Mequiar's products in preparation for my truck. When I tackle it I will post up the pics.

Good job! Seriously, way to dive back into detailing and nice work your first time using SwirlX.

Was this your first time using the PC also?

nice work there, it looks fantastic. Alot of the pro-line stuff such as 205 is great with DA too.

Yes first time with a PC. I was a Rotary Guy, when it was my job. Production stile shop so I figured it up one day, I have buffed out a little over 8000 vehicles in my day. So the PC was a big change for me, I was a little skeptical about it at first, but the more I worked with it the more I liked it. I was quite impressed with the results, and I know with the right product the results would have been even better. Their were a few Random Scratches that I couldn't get out, just not enough cut with the SwirlX. I am sure I probably could have with the SwirlX but I didn't want to have to do 10 passes on each panel for a few scratches here and their that I am sure as we speak the wife and kids are working hard to put back in.

Little work? More like great work!
I'm sure the missus appreciates your hard work so much that she has enlisted the kids to install more scratches so that it's gives you a reason to polish it up again!

Sure looks like you haven't lost any skill!

                  The truck looks great!

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

                  I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
                  Remove swirls my friends.

Great job. Did you clay before using the SwirlX? I am curious if SwirlX alone removed those water spots.
