    Nice job!

Pretty cool you opened your doors and coordinated this class.

This is a really good example of the philosophy we promote on this forum...

    "Each one teach one"

We all have to start somewhere but it helps to have someone whose been there and done that to help decrease the learning curve by sharing what they know.

Thanks for sharing the results from your class...

      Thanks for sharing the photos!

Wish I could have made it but with gas prices and everything else going on I just couldn't do it. Now if we get a Meguiar's class over there I'll be there for sure. Hint Hint!

One thing I noticed is all the bare wall shots, you need a Meguiar's banner.

        Thanks Mike!

It would really be nice to see Meguiars come up here and host a road show too. I have a few larger facilites that can be used to host such an event if Meguiars chooses to do so.

LOL! Working on it. I think after this weekend there will be a LOT of people buying G110's and maybe if I refer enough business Rick will give me one.

Another thing to note about the meet.

One of the members had brought some of his supplies. In his bag was some of the Turtle Wax Liquid Clay. Now this car had not been washed in a very long time and the paint felt like 400 grit sand paper. Prior to buffing I calyed half the hood with Meguiars Aggressive clay and he used the Liquid clay on the other side. Meguiars easily removed all above surface defects on my side and felt very smooth. The Turtle Wax side still had a rough feel but it actually removed some of the oxidized paint and the towel was black after he wiped of the excess.

So it seems to be that the Turtle Wax Liquid Clay Bar is more of a cleaner polish than a true clay. I'll see if I can find the side by side pic of the hood. I don't think I loaded it up yet and it's on my home PC.

Looks like you guys had a blast! Seems you were pretty thorough with teaching everyone there pretty much everything they need to know to get started on their own cars. Great job.

Here is a pic of the clay test. You can see how the Turlte Wax Liquid clay seemed to have a cleaning effect on the paint, pictured on the left side. Unfortunately it didn't seem to touch the above surface defects which the Meguiars clay removed with little effort.

What an awesome event! I wish I could have attended, but the drive is a little too far with gas prices and all

Disagree. I am the one in the picture using the Flex. I applied the same amount of pressure that I normally use on my random orbital.

Thanks again to Chad-aka Rasky for hosting the meet. It was very informative and helpful, especially for the people new to detailing cars. I along with Chad was quite amazed at how dark the Black Magic looked. However, it is a nightmare to remove and leaves a greasy film.

The NXT 2.0 kind of won the day. Had depth about the same as the Black Magic, but is oh so much more user friendly.

I think we all learned from the demonstration that some of the fancy "boutique" waxes really don't look any better than commerically available products like the NXT 2.0. Zaino may have a fancy shmansy name, but it didn't look better than either the 2.0 or the Black Magic.

                          Rasky,

Awesome event! I wish I lived closer as I would have loved to be a part of the event. Looks like everyone had a good time and learned a lot. I'm hoping Meg's sets up a class somewhere in the Northeast so as to perfect my DA skills.

I think the more people who do these side by side comparisons, come to the same conclusion.

That was actually the reason I set up the comparison.

A lot of pople claim brand "A" is better than "B" but you never really know until you compare them side by side.

Thanks for the compliment. I really enjoyed hosting the event. I was actually approached by a member of a local S2000 group this week wondering if I'd hold another for their them.
