Hi guys, I finally got around to getting pictures put up of the car I just did. After all the suggestions and comments I recieved on my last thread (Wax Job- 06 Monty Red Vette) I went out and bought the quick clay kit and NXT Liquid Tech Wax.
I made a deal with my dad that if he bought me and my partner these products and a couple of others (we're 14
) that I would try the new steps out on his pretty beat up Acua Legend for free. Its sort of a daily driver (he drives it around town so he doesn't have to take his f-250 everywhere) and he got it a few years ago. The paint was pretty neglected, with clear coat failures in spots. Here are the steps I did:
Wash
Clay
DC 1
DC 2
NXT Liquid Tech Wax
Scratch-X in places
Everything done by hand, removed with Mf's
Exterior Trim Detailer
All wheel Cleaner
The New Tire Foam (worked well)
Befores-
Hood still had a little shine
Its hard to see in the picture, but there is clear coat failure around the window.
Once again its hard to see, but there is bad scratching from bushes under the mirror. Its about a 1 foot square spot.
Some black scratch marks
Swirls
Afters-

Swirling definately improved-
Sorry the shade got in the way of some of the shots, but I couldn't do much about it. The car was a HUGE improvement over what it was. I was really happy, and so was my dad. Obviously those heavy swirls need to be removed with a DA or some sort of buffer, and with a professional line cleaner, but I managed to decrease them a bit. I did this job myself since it was just a tester, and I told my buddy just to relax since I got really motivated to do this.
It took me about 6 hours total, starting one night and finishing in the morning. I got the hang of the clay really quickly, and probably used more QD the needed, but I guess thats better then sticking the clay. Now I just can't wait until we wax another black car!!!!!
Hope you guys like everything,
Kyle
Oh I forgot to add that the clay made all the difference in the feel of the paint......so smoooooooth.
