Need 45 brand new cars detailed to perfection, who you gonna call??
You get some of the coolest projects. I am always amazed not only at your work but also how you so smoothly handle the logistics of big projects like this one and the big bus project.
I have a question though about your process.....In this project you used #66, which I understand is a one step product, however, it is advertised as having aggressive cutting action, I would be concerned it would be too aggressive for new cars. Can you tell me why you chose this over say something like #20 which has a lighter cutting action or another product? Were this cars that dirty? Thanks for your input and keep up the good work!!!

M66 is a strong cleaner/wax, but remember the cleaning action is based upon both chemical cleaners and diminishing abrasives, it's not like it's rocks in a bottle or anything you could physically feel between your fingers.
What most people with concerns about how aggressive a product like M66, or ColorX or even ScratchX need to do is to feel some between their fingers and see for themselves how smooth and creamy the product are, not gritty or abrasive.
At our Saturday classes I have all the students feel these product for themselves because we understand their is the perception of some that in order for a product to provide aggressive cleaning action it must also be abrasive or scratch feeling and this just isn't so with Meguiar's products.
Perhaps I can get Joe to chime in and tell you first hand what the M66 Cleaner/Wax feels like when rubbed between the fingers.
Another very important thing to remember is that any product, whether it's a compound, a paint cleaner, a cleaner/polish or a cleaner/wax gets part of its cleaning action by the,
* Application material * Application process * Application force
Real quickly, a couple of examples to make the point,
You can make a cleaner wax dramatically aggressive by applying it with a wool pad on a rotary buffer using a high RPM and pushing down very hard on the rotary buffer. (We don't recommend this, it's just an example).
You could apply this same product by hand, using a clean, soft foam applicator pad and applying it very gently.
A professional knows how to choose the appropriate application method, material and how much passion to put into the process.

The British TV show 5th Gear did a piece on the RS4 last week and loved it. It outdid the BMW M3 on the racetrack by a good margin, but they actually said it wasn't as much fun as the M3 because it felt almost, are you ready for this? Too secure!!!
Awesome cars those RS4s, and the A8 is just stunning. Joe, you're a lucky guy to get to hang around all these cool cars!

Quick Question for Joe I know you used the 66 what was your method of application and roughly how long per car if you dont mind me asking? Also if used with a rotary on polishing pad how bad are the buffer trials/holograms? I am interested in getting a gallon I have been doing alot of cars for people and some are beat up daily drivers were I think this would fit in nicely. Thanks Greg.

I am pretty sure (very sure) that Joe would not leave any car with even the slightest buffer trail. So I bet they are swirl free.
Nice job, after reading all the horror stories about some detailer out there if I were going to have my car detailed it would be you Joe you do some amazing work. Nice work.

Thank you for noticing!
The logistics of these types of events are a blast to figure out. I get a really big thrill out of it.
Just like the A team... "I LOVE IT WHEN A PLAN COMES TOGETHER!"
We started last Saturday and washed, waxed and washed and waxed and ...... a whole lot more every day until last Thursday!!!!!
The cars would be taken out by the media and thrashed at Willow Springs. They would return to Pasadena, get new tires and brakes then detailed by us.
We had to start at 5:30 AM a couple of days and work until 6:00 -7:00 PM with a few hours off durning the mid-day.
We would manage to still fit in a few details for our regular clients then. One of them being an RV!!!!!!!!
Here it is 5am and we are just getting started. It was a bit lighter than how it looks in the picture but we still had to check our work with our xenon lights.
