Lotus Elise Meets Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax!

Only 2000 units of this model will be built for only two years in this configuration because of new pedestrian laws in Europe, (All headlights must be meet a certain height standard which this model doesn't meet). The owner of this particular Elise waited a year and a half before taking delivery.

After recieving the car, the finish already had swirls and scratches in the finish. Meguiar's to the rescue...

When I first saw this car, I thought it would be a cakewalk to buff out, and it was, however there were some features unique to this car that had to be dealt with in order to properly machine polish it. First was to tape it off.

After inspecting the car and evaluating the finish, we pulled the owner over to show him TOGS, The Other Guys Splatter. Below you can see little white dots of product on the grill on the hood of this Lotus Elise.



It's important when you find splatter and residue on a car you're being asked to detail, (leftover from a previous detailer), to point it out to the owner so that he's aware of it and that you are not the responsible party for the now dried residue.

Do try your best to remove it so that your work looks great, but don't take the hit for something you didn't do...
