Re: Major Paint Restore on 2003 Velvet Red MINI
Impressive job, that mini turned out really nice. Wow 9 hours of free labor and expertise, I wonder if they truely know what they got for free??!!

Re: Major Paint Restore on 2003 Velvet Red MINI
The smell isn't bad fortunately and the seats are leatherette (vinyl), so cleaning was easy with #40 Vinyl & Rubber cleaner/conditioner. Frankly I haven't used #23 yet, but I did buy a bottle of the Dakota Odor Bomb spray from ADS that I'm going to try just for kicks. Combined with the lemon scent from Interior Quik Detailer, I think it will be fine.
The Meguiar's extractor brush combined with a vacuum is very effective at removing the hairs from the black carpeting.

I can't imagine someone abusing a MINI like that. It looks fantastic.
I don't know what you call them but I have staining in the gutters of the roof molding. What would you use to get them black again?
Here my baby

Haha yes, swirled MINIs are quite painful. But a funny thing happened. The owner used to live in my part of town, 20 something years ago, so he treated me to dinner at a local restaurant that I had never tried. We sat down at this table that had a plexiglass top. OMG, with the lights beaming down overhead, all I saw were swirls!!! They had one of those menus that sat behind the plexi so you had to stare at it to figure out what you wanted to order.
I commented to the MINI owner that sitting at this table is a nightmare for anyone that details cars.
