I have an '04 Jeep Liberty that's very neglected. It got some snow brush abuse the past two winters, hardly ever gets washed, especially by hand, and I've only put one coat of wax on it since I bought it in Sept. '06. Not to mention it's a deep red metallic color (Chrysler calls it 'Deep Molten Red'). *This car will never be neglected again!
Today I washed it with Gold Class. I have to say the Gold Class wash did a fantastic job; even the bees liked it.
I clayed it with Mothers clay & QD (I couldn't find the Megs kit in my area). This was my first time claying, so I think the Mothers clay did a decent job. I'm sure Megs would be better
. And Mothers QD smells like cinnamon.
And, I waxed with Megs Cleaner/Wax. It did a good job of removing a lot of the surface scratches and swirls in addition to adding a nice shine. Still some cobwebbing, but for what the car looked like before, I'm impressed.
For a neglected car, it came out looking pretty good. I also tested some NXT Tech Wax in a couple spots and the color and reflection were that much deeper. It's going to get a coat of that after I borrow my friends PC and give it a good polish in a couple of weeks.
I'll post some before/after pics when I get around to the polish. There are still plenty of paint defects and cobwebbing that need to be removed, so we'll see how good I am.
