I don't know how else to say it. This towel is a stone cold killer.
First: wash it before using it. My initial test on a side window left lint. After a quick 2 minute agitation with a few drops of liquid detergent, and a tumble dry on medium, there was no linting at all.
It looks like a threadbare terry towel, or like the cheapest microfiber towel you could imagine. What it appears is that the terry nap is actually microfiber, rather than the terry loops that you normally see. Once you start working the coarseness of the terry design helps scrape off bug juice, and the microfiber weave absorbs and retains the glass cleaner. So what you get is a towel that doesn't need to be refreshed with solvent as often, and that doesn't need to be replaced with a fresh towel after two or three window panels. And there's no smearing. It picks up the inside windshield fog with no smearing. It removes fingerprints with no smearing. And it's HUGE. Fold it into quarters? No, fold it into 8ths.
And the best thing about it? IT'S A NEW IDEA. Sure, there are those no-nap smooth microfiber glass towels; you know, the ones that work great at removing windshield film but are no good at removing insect guts. And there are the dish type towels that get wet so fast that you need to follow them with a second towel. And the cotton terry towels get the bug guts, but smear the inside windshield film, and never seem to wipe the window dry. This towel takes the best of all of those, and makes it one towel.
If you get one based on this review and don't like it I'll buy it from you. Offer good for the first 10 people who don't like it, but I don't think I'll be paying off.
