  • Duo Fiber Glass towel: Killer. Just killer.

I don't know how else to say it. This towel is a stone cold killer.

First: wash it before using it. My initial test on a side window left lint. After a quick 2 minute agitation with a few drops of liquid detergent, and a tumble dry on medium, there was no linting at all.

It looks like a threadbare terry towel, or like the cheapest microfiber towel you could imagine. What it appears is that the terry nap is actually microfiber, rather than the terry loops that you normally see. Once you start working the coarseness of the terry design helps scrape off bug juice, and the microfiber weave absorbs and retains the glass cleaner. So what you get is a towel that doesn't need to be refreshed with solvent as often, and that doesn't need to be replaced with a fresh towel after two or three window panels. And there's no smearing. It picks up the inside windshield fog with no smearing. It removes fingerprints with no smearing. And it's HUGE. Fold it into quarters? No, fold it into 8ths.

And the best thing about it? IT'S A NEW IDEA. Sure, there are those no-nap smooth microfiber glass towels; you know, the ones that work great at removing windshield film but are no good at removing insect guts. And there are the dish type towels that get wet so fast that you need to follow them with a second towel. And the cotton terry towels get the bug guts, but smear the inside windshield film, and never seem to wipe the window dry. This towel takes the best of all of those, and makes it one towel.

If you get one based on this review and don't like it I'll buy it from you. Offer good for the first 10 people who don't like it, but I don't think I'll be paying off.

Dang it, I thought I could go a week without ordering anything, thanks a lot, haha. Awesome review, I'm glad to hear that there is another great product to try. I'm excited about towels, this can't be good.

Nice review. I can't wait to get mine in tomorrow when my shipment arrives!

I saw this and the other towels at a Meguiar's Detail Day. I also can't wait to get those new Super Heavy Terry Towels!

Something is wrong to be this excited about towels.

I must agree with you Mosca. We cleaned the windows on at least 3 cars at the MOL meet last weekend and that towel never gave up.

I agree, great towel. I had to machine wash mine twice to solve the linting issue though. I guess it is just normal with cotton toweling.

                Tom,

Excellent review. I look forward to trying the towel!

Quick question......... did you try it with both a foaming glass cleaner and a liquid glass cleaner?

Boss, I used it with a liquid glass cleaner, the Griot's cleaner. One of the issues with the Griot's cleaner is its unwillingness to evaporate at lower temps. The way the towel picked up the excess product hastened the evaporation. I would thing that it would be the same for a foaming cleaner.

                    Tom,

Yep, that was exactly where I was going! I'm looking forward to trying the towel.

                    Thanks again.

I used the new Meguiar's Duo Fiber Towel & Meguiar's NXT Glass Cleaner today for the first time!

I decided not to wash the towel first as I wanted to get right to it.

Surprising that it left little lint for me out of the package and I would have expected much more lint as you normally would with a new towel of any kind. A nice start to a job I normally dislike very much (cleaning windows).

My windows were not bad(so I thought) as I only did them last week , but was amazed at the dirt (minor) that came off them (interior) and yet I thought they were pretty darn clean, so the towel grabbed whatever was left behind and the NXT Glass Cleaner was an added boost!

I had no problems leaving them streak free and am very impressed with the absorbency of the towel. The whole overall process did not seem to take as long as it would with my normal towels and glass cleaner, so maybe this combo will add some fun back into cleaning windows which is normally what I dread most. I really like the fact that I saved time not fighting streaks.

I also seems to use less product than I normally would, having said that I was also working on windows that in essence were pretty clean, but I have great faith that the same will hold true and that this will be a great combo on really dirty windows as well.

                      Great product(s) Meguiar's!

So my impressions in nutshell are "Simply Amazing and Efficient" and that something I never really thought possible from a towel and glass cleaner!

Can I wash the Duo fiber glass towel along with my regular MF's? Or should I wash it separately since it's a terry cloth?

I tend to wash glass MFs seperately from "regular" MFs to ensure any QD, wax or polish residue hasn't re deposited ( chances are slight but still) on them. This could cause less than ideal results when you go to use them on the glass again.
