  • New Water Magnet Drying Towel

    1. Packaging & Labeling. Is it well packaged? Are the labels durable?
Very nice box and packaging plus a picture of Mr Meguiar on the back of the box. There is a Satisfaction Guaranteed policy statement too.

    2. Helpful instructions on label?
The box has the directions for use on the back.

    3. Does product do what the manufacturer claims it does?
Well, yes. This thing is like a water magnet. Anyway today I washed a Toyota Scion and dried with this towel. One wring out towards the end for the entire vehicle. Plus the towel didn't leave little water drops behind on the glass even after drying most of the body. I usually dry glass first but wanted to try overloading the towel.

    4. Value. Is the product a good buy? If a liquid product, how much per ounce? Does a little go a long way?
Price is in line with other brands and even the other GC accessories.

    5. Easy to use? Hard to use? Did you read the directions and use as directed?
How about fun to use. Just keep turning the towel over. I also refold the towel a couple of times. I used a fast arm movement and picked up most of the water. The older waffle weave required a bit slower pass to pick up all the water.

    6. If known, what is the pH of the product? Is it safe for enthusiasts or should it be for professional use only?
This product is good for anyone that washes and drys a vehicle

    7. Describe the product smell, viscosity and other physical traits if any.
The pic says it all. The towel isn't the soft feeling towel but neither were the older waffle weaves.

The Water Magnet does look a little bit different then Meguair's original waffle weave Drying Towel. I look forward to trying it out after reading the review.

      Thanks for the great writeup!

The dimensions are 22X30 and the new WW is larger than the older version.

I used the water Magnet last week and I can't say enough about it. It is outstanding. I sheeted the water with a hose (no Nozzle) first and the WW picked up everything else.

My Pep Boys did not have it. All they had was the Supersuede Drying Cloth, which does a decent job.

I have never used a Waffle Weave MF drying towel before. I picked up the Water Magnet at Pep Boys the other day (the past 2 weeks they have started getting some of the new accessories in). All I can say is....

                  WOW

I just ordered my water magnet drying towel yesterday along with the mop, body brush, scratch remover and some NXT. I am looking forward to using this mop on my black Suburban and seeing how much water this water magnet drying towel will actually remove before wringing it out.

Sounds like you'll be armed and ready to go. Report back your results if you will.

I bought this last week and had an opportunity to use it on my black and silver truck. I'd normally use a synthetic chamois for my drying. I was impressed with how quick it soaked up the water. It absorbed the water faster and held a conderable amount more that the chamois does. After the towel was completly wet, it still absorbed well after ringing it out.

I have to be honest, I initially thought it was suppose to leave a completely dry surface. I don't know where I got that idea. Although it didn't, I'm still impresed with its function. That's never my last step anyway so that was no biggie.

I used my water magnet towel this past w/n. The towel worked really good when it was dry, but after it was wet it seemed to leave streaks/spots on my paint and glass. No matter how much I wringed it out, I could never get it dry enough to not leave marks. I'll give it another try this w/n to see how it works now that I have washed it.
