  • Shampoo Plus D11101 ~ Review

    Product:

I recently purchased a gallon of Shampoo Plus and today I was able to try it out on my Silverado that has not been washed in two weeks, what can you do when it rains on and off for four days? Well, as you can imagine my truck was pretty dirty from both the rain and just day to day driving.

I used a Meguiars Microfiber Wash Mitt with the Shampoo Plus

I also used 1 oz of shampoo for every 1 gallon of water, my bucket was 5 gallons, so 5 oz of shampoo go into my bucket of cold water.

    Before:

    During:

After washing my entire truck, i was suprised by how much soap was left:

    Afters:

    Overall Thoughts:

After using Shampoo Plus today i can now say that i will never be turning back. I felt this gave a better shine and better overall finish for just washing your car than GC or NXT. I noticed it darkened the paint quite a bit and the suds lasted way longer than Gold Class. Keep in mind all i did was simply wash my truck, no quick detailers afterwards or anything.

In the end, Shampoo Plus is my new favorite car wash and I give it this product a big

Didn't you notice how easy it is to rinse off?! I think that one of the biggest things about it.

Your Suds don't stay long with GC? I have never had that problem. I'll have to try some shampoo plus after I try out NXT

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

        I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
        Remove swirls my friends.

Your GC didn't foam up with 5oz of product? I use about 4oz as I don't fill up my 5 gallon buckets all the way and I get plenty of foam with GC/NXT.

Good review. I may have to give this stuff a shot!

Don't know if I can get momma to let me buy it for 15 bucks a gallon compared to cheaper soaps of GC and NXT!.....

          Truck looks great though

I would like to try Shampoo Plus and HyperWash and the Mirror Glaze line one and do a comparo.

Thanks for the kind words guys,

My GC and NXT foam up fine but Shampoo Plus suds up noticeably more IMO.

a few jugs is a lot of car washes, you must like it then. Any reason you prefer it over Gold Class or Shampoo Plus?

My local PBE store has it and I was thinking about picking it up.

Well, heres my full convoluted and delusional car wash story....

I started off with Gold Class when I got my '05 Legacy. I seemed to still get some dirt on my drying towels, looking back it could have been the soap, or unfamiliar with the cars curves ,etc.

Then I tried Nxt Wash, and this was also when I first tried Nxt 1.0 Wax. Seemed to stop getting dirt (maybe more familiar with the curves?), but the finish didn't seem to look as nice. Of course Nxt 1.0 Wax seemed to pick up a reputation for not holding up a shine, and I switched to #21 1.0 soon after. So hard to say what was what.

Of course by that time, I was onto Shampoo Plus and my foam gun. It seemed to work ok, but didn't seem to clean like Nxt, or leave the shine of Gold Class, even with the #21.

So, Tim was saying a lot of good things about #62, so why not try it. Now, it seems like it leaves a nice shine, and I only get dirt on my towels if I blatantly miss a spot.

                            Make sense?

Ya, i get ya. i know what you mean about knowing the ins and outs of the car too
When it comes to washing my truck I am on the perfectionist side as well.
