Always used Meguiars casually on my cars in the past, but have just taken on an 08 AMG Mercedes with a black paint job.

Figure I will be spending some time on the forum learning how to care for it. Never realised how much hard work it is to keep a black car looking good!

      Thanks stang_crazy.

Did the whole car by hand last weekend using SwirlX and Ultimate Paste Wax, and my arm was so sore I could barely lift a beer!

Can't have that happening, so I have ordered a G220v2 (the 220v version of the G110v2) and will do it the right way next time

I'll be spending some time looking over the articles and videos for sure. Thanks for the links.

Here's a photo. Looks good from a distance, but some real issues when you get closer

        Nice looking car buddy!!

I love a Black vehicle! Now think what new level of reflection your going to give that paint.

Remember though to clay first to remove the above surface contaminants that are bonded to the paint, then get something like Ultimate Compound (UC) and clean in and under your paint. And take your time on these 2 very important steps, because the cleaner you get it the better it's going to reward all your hard work your putting in to it!

And I would go over it with Ultimate Polish (UP) just to add some polishing oils back to your paint to give it that little pop and that deep dripping wet shine! and apply 2 THIN applications of your favorite last step products (LSP) You don't have to wait the recomended 12 hours just let cure ( do the swipe test) and apply another very thin coat!

And the most IMPORTANT thing of the whole thing... Show us plenty of before and after pics

Welcome. You have a great looking ride. Good idea investing in a DA. They are worth the money.
