  • Chicago Cold and Hard on your Car

Hi, I live in Chicago and have for 66 years (OF). I have a 2005 Hyundai Elantra (Black), a 2007 Hyundai Tucson (Black), a 2006 Ford Taurus sorta gray/blue?, and a 2012 Chev Malibu (dirty green).
Now with all those cars to take care of you would think I would say the hell with it, go to a car wash! Well I like many here enjoy making something you are in so much and pay so much for, look great and protect your investment. I have a Meguiars G-1102 polisher, and I have tried everything you can think of to make mt cars look great: Zaino, Wolfgang, Goirots, Zymol, etc. etc.....But I always come back to Meguiar products.

Like I said I treat all my cars like I want them to last a long time. I detail the engine once a week. I am always crawling under the cars and detailing, looking for signs of rust, or whatever. I have used Por-15 (do not like), Eastwood's Rust Encapsulator, undercoating, engine paint, and lots more from them, very happy with their products. So here I am 66 years old, three herniated disks, three bulging disks, very severe Arthritis in my back, neck, right leg, hips, and I have had 6 operations on my left foot, now I have a metal plate with 7 screws and pins and rods, but still working on detailing lol.

Now like they say leave them laughing....A receptionist walks into her Pysychiatrists bosses office and says, "sorry to bother you doctor, but there is a man in the waiting room who insists that he is invisble"! The doctor turns around and looks at her and says "Go out there and tell him that I can't see him"!

You really need a lift and I don't mean emotionally, but the kind that lifts up cars.

You got to be retired....one black car is a full time job, but two black and two dark colored is a direct route to the hospital, as you exemplify. Plus you've had just two posts since 2008, you are busy.

When I get old(er), I wanna be just like you, jake9364!!

My girlfriend thinks that I obsess about my '09 Candy White VW GTI, but I'm with you; If I'm going to pay that much money, for that long a period of time, then I'm going to keep it looking brand new.

      Cheers to you good sir!

Nice to see you still so active with the cars considering all the medical issues you describe. Let that be a lesson to the young guys who complain that detailing is hard! Great joke, too!
