  • Hello everyone! Phoenix area here!

New detailer here! I have always used wax products but never really knew what the heck each one did differently than the other. I finally decided after spider marks started really bothering on my daily driver, 03 Zinc Yellow Mach 1 Mustang.

I have started to build my arsenal with the following:

    G110v2
    Megs pads
    Mothers Clay bay with showtime
    Ult compound
    Ult polish
    Ult liquid wax
    Ult quick wax
Megs hot wheels all wheel cleaner
    Armorall interior cleaner
    Armorall protectant
    Plenty of microfiber towels

Anyone have any input on what to use to protect stock wheels? They are factory mach 1 wheels, aluminum....

Also anyone who might suggest something different they would stock up with that would be greatly appreciated.

I look forward to everyones input!

    Welcome to MOL!

Actually protecting wheels is a tough one - the heat they endure, and the deposits of hot brake dust, generally tend to break down any wax or sealant fairly quickly. Plenty of people do wax their wheels - a synthetic sealant is probably the better choice here (M21, NXT, Ultimate Wax) but the first time you hit it with a wheel cleaner that wax/sealant is pretty much gone. The best thing to do is to clean them regularly, even with just a good quick detail spray and wheel-dedicated microfiber towels, so as to prevent the build up of brake dust.

Thanks for the responses guys! I have some Mothers cleaner wax I bought a while ago before I really got into researching my detailing, so im glad it wont go to complete waste.
