  • need to buy products, keep price down and be realistic, oh and i need help!

ill try and keep it brief, i have checked forums without success...
so here goes, i have a vw bora need to keep it clean and want a stunning finish.
i need to buy new meguairs products
i have clay and quick detailer, but am waiting on 7 show car polish, 26 or 16 wax, scratch x to remove swirls plast x for dull headlights. this will all be done by hand as i have no machinebuffer. question is, i dont seem to know best way to start? should i use deatailer and clay before scratch x or after and then show car no.7 then 26 and then 16? some assistance in the best order to use these products would help. i need to clean car remove the scratches and then polish up to a deep glossy shine. help greatly recieved the order and what to use.

First off how bad are your swirls? If they are pretty deep you may need something stronger. I would make sure to do a test spot first and make sure you are happy with where the paint is, and make sure to use plenty of elbow grease!

Now another thing is the show car polis #7, if your car is clear coated this may be something you dont need as I only find it adds to single stage paint and not so much if any with clear coat. I would also go with the 26 wax as it will be easier to find than the 16. Other things you will need is some car soap (i like the gold class), grit guards, buckets, wash mitt, and atleast two good drying towels.

So you would obviously wash the car and dry it first, and then clay the car smooth. After claying is when you would polish the car to the desired finish and then lay down your wax.

I recommend the following starter kit:
        1. Ultimate Compound - for serious defects,
        2. Swirl X - for swirls and minor corrections,
        3. Scratch X 2.0 - for your glove box as a first aid,
        4. Next Tech Wax 2.0 - longest lasting wax,
        5. Gold Class Carnauba Plus - as a top coat wax if you like high shine or if your VW is dark colored,
        6. You've got it - Clay bar kit,
        7. Ultimate Quik Detailer - for easy maintenance between washes,
        8. Gold Class Shampoo/ Conditioner or Ultimate Wash & Wax,
        9. Quik Interior Detailer - great, quick and easy to use.
        10. Don't forget to choose right stuff for your wheels and tires, I like high gloss so Insane Shine is my favorite treat.

Now you should never be caught empty handed.
