  • Water Magnet

I believe this product gives exceptional results when it is dry & I have purchased 2 cloths in an attempt to dry my car perfectly. When rinsing said cloth I cannot get it dry-enough by "ringing-it" in my hands:any ideas how to get the cloth drier in normal use when cleaning the car in cool temperatures?
    Thanks!

    Re: Water Magnet

Hi tel, and welcome to the forum.

If this is the towel I'm thinking it is, you won't be able to wring enough of the water out of it. Once it's completely wet, the towel is pretty much useless for further drying chores. About all it will do is just push the water around.

May I suggest Meguiar's Super Suede Drying Cloth for most of your water removal, and then you can finish the job with the water magnets. The Super Suede can be wrung out with ease.

Edit: Looks like name has been changed, but this appears to be similar to the Super Suede. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong here)

I 100% agree with what Rusty suggested.

The waffle weave does a great job of absorbing every last drop of water, but it is very thick and hard to wring out.

Start with the Super Suede- get 95%~ of the water, and immediately follow that with a water magnet waffle weave towel.

The Super Suede towel is much thinner and very, very easy to wring out.

        Or...

A leaf blower. I find that it removes 90% of the water and my water magnets barely get damp soaking up the rest. I use a cordless model which has just enough stored power to blow water off one car, but it's light and easy to maneuver around the car without dragging a cord.

I'm glad you brought that up.

I have used them a few times myself, and they are great for blowing water out of recessed areas! Makes wiping off cleaners & such much easier without fear of wetting the towels.

I use a leaf blower to get as much water off the car as possible and then follow with two Water Magnets. Works every time.

              Re: Water Magnet

I use the waffle weave microfiber Water Magnet and have no problems wringing it out. Since the cloth is fairly big, I find the easiest way to get as much water out as possible is to only fold it once and wring it out...have to give it a few wrings to do the full length of the cloth. The thing is to NOT fold it a bunch of times and try wringing it out in one wring or two because there's too much material and you can't get most of the water out because the water at the center of the cloth has a hard time getting out from so much material thickness (i.e. folds).

I start out with the Absorber, then use 2 water magnets to finish. Never had any problems this way.

I rinse my car with a stream of water, which removes most of the water from the car and then use two water magnets and have never had any issues.
