  • Hello from Northern Virginia

I have been detailing cars for quite some time but mostly by hand; I just purchased a PC DA and cant wait to break it in. Some of the cars I have will be "test subjects" for my efforts. My cars are older and will require a decent amount of effort to "restore" hence the "by hand" is not an option anymore.

Now I am researching the products to purchase and techniques and likely takin a class in the next week to provide me a hand-on experience. I always learn better by doing than reading.

Thanks in advance to all the folks whose advice I am sure to use.

Welcome to Meguiar's Online and thank you for posting your Introduction thread to introduce yourself to the forum....

The DA Polisher is a great tool and in most cases will always outperform the human hand, it does have limits due to the clutch which is also the built-in safety factor that everyone loves although they often times don't even know about it.

If you haven't already, take time to read through this as it lists all the common problems and the remedies in order...

If you're moving up to machine polishing, be sure to read the below thread before starting...
Tips & Techniques for using the G110, G100, G220 and the PC Dual Action Polisher
    (These are all similar tools)

Lots of helpful and friendly members are always here to help too!
