    Welcome Nizmo

I know we don't have the full range, but I've found everything that I require from local suppliers. What items can't you find and where in 'Suid-Afrika' are you from?

We came over at the end of 2000, so it's been almost 6 years (but feels like yesterday). We also spent a 2 year stint here in the mid 90's, that we obviously enjoyed enough to decide to come back.

There's actually a large number of SA'cans where we live, and we have good ex-SA friends of ours a just few houses up the street. We all get together a few times a year to make "boerewors" .

                  Metal Polish
I use Meguiars All Metal Polysh (yes, that's how they spell it!) that I picked up @ DeLaRey Hardware Store. I use it on my chrome exhaust tips and around the house.

                  Leather Care
I haven't used Meguiars products for my leather 'cause I still have some left over from my previous BMW, but I've seen the leather care products at DeLaRey yesterday. They say it's good, but I cannot vouch for it.

                  Random Orbital/Dual Action Polisher
We don't get the G100 (or Porter Cable polishers here), but I recently acquired the Makita BO6040 Dual Action polisher from my local hardware and bought Meguiars pads to use on it. The only issue I have with it is that the Velcro backing on the pad doesn't cover the entire pad (like some of the Lake Country pads), so I do get a cookie-cutter effect when using the standard Makita backing plate. BTW. The thread on the Meguiars backing plate doesn't fit the Makita. I'm gonna get myself the 8" cutting pad to use with my MF bonnet to see if that's better.

The Meguiars brand is definately gaining in popularity in South Africa, with stores like Makro, DeLaRey and Game starting to sell it. They sell the retail products and companies like BritQuip in the Cape sell the professional products. You can always speak to Meguiars SA people on the SA Forum

                  Hope this helps

I'm from Cape Town and DeLaRey is only found in the Cape.

I can't remember what it cost...possibly about R100. It comes in a 142gram pot and it goes a long way. I've had it for two months and everytime I wash my car, I use it and I've only gone through about 30grams of it.

Speak to the guys on the SA forum about suppliers in the Gauteng area.
