Swirls appearing in the sun after polishing car last week. Can anyone tell me why?

Hi & welcome - these are inflicted from a rotary buffer/rotary polisher machine? I am assuming you were using the rotary machine? These are very common occurrence with use of a rotary. It is quite tough to finish out rotary swirl aka hologram free.
You can either go over the areas with a rotary again & try to alter your technique, or a dual action polisher, a foam polishing pad, and a finishing polish would be an option as well.
Quality lighting and test spots are crucial as you are working as well.
