  • Solo system for D/A

How far fetched would it be to ask for a D/A compatible solo system and maybe using the same pads allready offered?

    Hey Mike,

The whole idea behind The So1o System was to give a super easy tool to body shops: one liquid to cut and polish on fresh paint. These guys traditionally love rotary buffers.

If you'd like to experience something similar with D/A polishers I would suggest D151 Paint Reconditioning Cream (2 steps, switch to finishing pad in Step 2) or DA Microfiber Correction System.

Kevin Brown wrote some great article about M86 Cut & Polish Cream with random orbital machines:

      Thanks for the link Greg.

I did talk with Stoops about an AIO and he did mention D151 and M66. After reviewing D151 it looks to be like a good product for both yellow and black pads on a D/A. I do have the Microfiber system but was looking for a dedicated AIO. I am now wanting to pick up some D151 to try out as I have heard many great things about it. One thing that caught my eye about the solo system is a one liquid multiple pad system for use in body shops. (I have now moved into a body shop.......)

D151 Paint Reconditioning Cream would be the closest product to M86 Cut & Polish Cream with one difference: it has a protection.

You could apply D151 twice switching to less aggressive pad in step 2. Also if you let it dry (for like 20 minutes or so before wipe off) you'll get its maximum protection. If you plan to do another step after D151 application wipe it off right away.

It's very versatile and you could use it with wool cutting pads or foam cutting/ polishing/ finishing pads as well. When used aggressive way (high speed, slow arm speed, heavy down pressure) it cuts really fast.

When you work on rather dry paint and M105 has very short buffing cycle (lubrication agents get pulled into dry paint) then M86 will perform much better in that situation. Some detailers used M86 with MF pads successfully as well.

Sounds like D151 will be added to my arsenal very soon. Thanks for the guidance Greg.
