Could Meguiars design a product to fill the light swirls in automotive glass? I have a perfect swirl free paint job, but have a few swirls on my Lexus' windshield. I also get customers that have marring from the windshield wipers. I know they make special kits to remove the swirls, but I think Meg's could design a product to fill them easy.

You'll see it. A lot of times at the right angle or lighting. I see it mostly in older vehicles. Most newer vehicles have a more durable glass type, but I could show some pics.

I know what you mean. But, I am not always sure if they are swirls or streaks. Glass is pretty hard so I think sometimes the light fools me.

My pickup's windshield is badly swirled. I don't know what the previous owner did to it, but it's quite ugly. Especially when the sun is straight ahead.

Quite often claying the windshield works wonders!! It can remove gunk that no glass cleaner can. Some folks have had success using a more agressive product like UC or even M151 after claying.

No Touch has a 'glass stripper' that for me, works great. As I get the bottle out...it is called "No Touch Auto Glass Stripper." The stuff even takes RainX off.

You should see the windshield on our 1990 Honda Accord.

I recently detailed a 1955 Chevy and the windshield had swirls on it, I used a couple of coats of UC and was able to remove most of them. The owner was so happy to not have them.

I've used clay bar on the outside glass and it does seem to make them look much better.

I don't believe technology yet exists to create a chemical that will not only fill light swirls in auto glass, but it would have to be permenant. Any chemical that would fill light swirls in glass would also have to be configured in such a way as to not distort/disrupt the optical clarity of the glass.

Once safety glass (or any glass for that matter) is scratched or scuffed, the optical clarity is compromised. I've seen scuffs that are not only long, but also wide, due to a windshield wiper going back and forth on a dirty windshield.

If you can come up with a product that can mysteriously fix a damaged windscreen by restoring optical clarity, you will make a million dollars. I think the logical way to go about correcting the clarity, would be to clay, and then polish with the proper polishing compound using a machine.

Glass Sealant, like Adam's Polishes sells.

Don't you have to use cerium oxide to remove fine "swirls" from glass?
