    Re: Tire cleaning foams

First of all, noneck180, welcome to MOL.

Secondly, let's all just sit back and take a deep breath here.

One of the greatest things about MOL is the way we welcome new members, regardless of their detailing knowledge, and help them settle in. Other forums on the web may tolerate this sort of quick to judge attitude and let these rants run out of control, but that doesn't fly here.

This thread went upside down shockingly quickly and is not indicative of the way we do things here.

Let's all continue to think before we type, cut each other a bit of slack and keep the first 4 MOL Forum Rules in mind from here on through:

    1. No personal attacks toward members or non-members will be tolerated.

    2. No arguing with Moderators or Administrators.

    3. You are welcome to disagree but you must be polite.

    4. No bashing any company or their products. No bashing other people. If you can't say anything nice about someone, then don't say anything at all.

Obviously you don't want to move on then.

That attitude won't get you far around here...

I think the OP got off relatively scot free given his lack of description and limited use of words. I know that would have caused a much more unpleasant reaction on some other forums I belong to.

I saw his post yesterday and was somewhat frustrated by it, but I thought I'd better not say anything. His follow up post today was not much more help.

Then he goes and attacks established forum members?

Still, I agree. We should now move on...

I recommended noneck to this forum. I'm a little bit embarrassed how this thread turned out.

I know everyone was just interested in seeing what he came up with, but oddly the posting turned into attacking the person rather than the issue at hand.

It happens, let's be adults and move on to sharing detailing tips and tricks.

    Re: Tire cleaning foams

Just got back from the lake..no internet up there..

All I do is take a foam applicator pad and tape a pencil to the back side of it...nothing fancy..but works for now...with this

    http://www.meguiarsdirect.com/produc...p?T1=MEG+G9524 and some soapy water..

    then put this on...

    after the wheels are clean..

I plan on making a better one with a round headed bolt, 2 flat washers a nut, two foam applicator pads..and some type of gluing agent.." silicone " to stick the pads together..

I agree. A little more info would be nice but nothing wrong has been done.

It could be he's using a stiff foam, like the Griot's tire scrubbers and he's somehow mounted them on a drill and doing something like that. Just a shot in the dark until we hear more from the OP.
