  • The best of both worlds in the form of a new wax?

How about a wax that darkens the paint like GC or M26 does, but with Hydrophobic Polymer Technology in it. I love the look of GC Liquid Wax on my trucks paint but i also love having Hydrophobic Polymer Technology. How about a wax that really darkens the paint and has Hydrophobic Polymer Technology. The only opposition i could think of is using GC wax then following up with UQD or UQW. But how about a liquid and paste wax with the best of both worlds of NXT and Gold Class. All of these recent threads on wax has got me thinking. Sorry if this is kinda a dumb idea

So what do you say Meguiars?

    any thoughts?

Sounds reasonable. I would have interest in that.

Sounds like it would be a good idea.

I'd be inclined to think that all Megs new LSP's will have the Hydrophobic technology...seems like they have been perfecting the method and I'd expect to see it for a long time. Either way, would love to see it. Maybe M26 with HPT?

          It's here!

It's called NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0.

I ran tape down the center of my gas tank, with NXT 1.0 on the left and 2.0 on the right. Completely non-scientific... but worked for me.

Tuck, do you mean a wax that darkens, but gives a different look than NXT which is quite shiny and reflective, but rather a deeper and richer looking with hydrophobic technology?

I like the sound of it.

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

              I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.

                    Umm....

We want to hear from you. Let us know if you have any suggestions or ideas for NEW products that you would like to see Meguiar's come out with.

Hmmmm.... not really a boutique wax... but a consumer is what I think Tuck was getting at.

I'm not sure you can improve upon the appearance characteristics of products we already have on the market?

Most of your end-result is in the prep work, after that a quality wax will take your prep-work results to a higher level but at some point you'll hit a ceiling of maximum perfection, that is more and more work, (applying products), doesn't equate to better and better results.

NXT, Gold Class and M26, (actually any of our waxes), pretty much will maximize the appearance results of any paint after the correct prep work is done.

Yeah, i wasnt trying to suggest a boutique wax, just aother wax in the consumer line with a different look than NXT but include the Hydrophobic Polymer Technology.

And I don't either. But that's just it. I don't think the original poster was asking for the same or similar product that is more expensive. He is suggesting Meg's make a better product. Everyone is getting caught up on "repackaging" existing wax or selling a $150 a tin wax or other ridiculous notions Meg's will never get involved in.

Here's an important point...yes, put NXT 2.0 next to any boutique wax on the same surface prep and 99% of people cannot see the difference. But these other waxes offer things NXT 2.0 does not, mainly a true wipe-on/wipe-off application and no staining of trim. That's what I want from the next Meg's wax!!

Give me NXT 3.5 or whatever that looks the same as 2.0 but is wipe-on/wipe-off and doesn't stain trim and I'll pay boutique wax pricing for it as it would now truly be the best on the market.
