Re: UQD With Dust Repellant
Actually guys,
Black Magic just came out with a new Interior Cleaner/protectant that has Anti Static Repellents:
Not sure if it works but what's their secret.

Ive been using Duragloss 521 for months now and I can tell you that it works great with repelling dust. You can get it over at autogeek.

Re: UQD With Dust Repellant
Was given a bottle of The Wax Shop Slick Stuff Detailer and this stuff is great, slick shine, really repels the dust,my car is kept in the garage during the week and i'll have to wipe it down every couple of days to keep the dust down but since I used the Slick Stuff I haven't touched it in 6 daysyeah I know it's not UQD but UQD seems to attract the dust

Re: UQD With Dust Repellant
Hey Mike, I've seen many companies sell quick detailer w/ anti-static feature. Does this work at all? It is a bit tempting. My car attracts more dust than ever, after applying Tech Wax. If this products, do work, are you guys thinking about making ONE with this feature.

Interesting though, is that since I switched from UQD to Last Touch, I don't see the dust being attracted as quickly and the dust for the most part will blow off when I drive. With UQD it seems once the dust settled on the paint, it would stick until it was washed off.

I would love to see that, put me down for a forcefield...

Re: UQD With Dust Repellant
You think it would fall under the consumer line? Maybe we'll see some forcefield next to the QD at our local Autozones and Kragens.

I'd get the force field option on my 100k car!

Re: UQD With Dust Repellant
Part of the problem is air-borne dust particles have their own static charge and you can't remove this static charge from all the dust in the air.
Been told clear coats style paints also have their own level of static charge too...

Re: UQD With Dust Repellant
hhmmmm 3M might be able to assist here, I'm pretty sure their Perfect-it Show Car paste wax has antistatic properties.

Re: UQD With Dust Repellant
The old MPPP had some anti-static properties to it IIRC. Black Magic is actually adding this to their products now as well, and it is my understanding that they work pretty good (especially the Matte Tire Gel). Matte finish on the tires and dash, that work at repelling (maybe "not attracting" would be better) dust.

Re: UQD With Dust Repellant
not sure if it is possible... Such a thin layer is left that I don't know how it could kick dust off the hood in any way. Its just like beading water... nothing really can toss the water off, but it sure can make it easy to take off when the car starts driving. In the case of dust it shows when you wash it that it comes up quite easily.
EDIT: Looks like I stand corrected! Thx for the heads up.
