  • RainX like product

So I was thinking. Meguiar's finally got a glass product in their consumer line, and their detailer glass cleaner is awsome, but there is one surface they don't make a protectant for, glass. I just bought some rainx like stuff today for my rear window as I did a little mod to eliminate my rear wiper. It could be added to the X line and be called GlassX. I'm thinking application similar to regular wax, pad or towel, wipe on in overlaping circles, wipe off done.
    Later,
    Ricky

Rick... I second the idea but they might also add a glass polish to the line, you know something to help clean and polish the glass (something more aggressive than just a liquid glass cleaner) prior to the application of the "Glassx".

Just FYI, but I find ColorX works very well on glass.

I have always had pretty good luck applying a very light coat of #26 pure carnuba wax on my windshields, let it dry completely, then remove with a soft cloth.

The rain runs right off, and bugs are very easy to remove.

Wax isn't the best product for your glass for one simple fact -- its not clear ad can "fill in" minor scratches and chips.

However, I too really love the idea of "GlassX". The name goes along with PlastX and will instantly identify itself among rain-X users. GREAT IDEA!

Nxt also worked very well on my windsheild and lasted a longtime.

I did a side by side comparison of RainX and NXT wax on my winshield front and back. I would have to say that they performed about the same for the most part. In a few weeks I'll see how long they hold up.

You need something very similar to Aquapel as opposed to the dressing nature of RainX which wears away a lot faster.

I find RainX to last me for atleast a month. Something similiar to RainX would be a great idea!

So after a few good rainshowers and storms I Would say that NXT wax definitely held up better than RainX. The effect of the NXT did fill in a few minor scratches, but other than that it works well.

Hummm... interesting, I use rainX all the time. Might have to give NXT a try.
