Just venting some frustrations with the MF cutting disks.

I've been using them since the day they came out and I was one of the lucky ones who didn't have any delaminating occur with my first batch. In the past 2 months I've had 12 of them fail. I spoke to George over in Customer Care last week and he told me to send my faulty ones in and they would be replaced. (AWESOME!!)

Well, I had some corrections already scheduled so I went to my local detail supplier since I was pressed for time (Wash Solutions) and purchased 4 of them to get me by since I already had a few more in my arsenal. I purchased these last friday and they lasted two panels each on my PC (non xp) at speed 4-5 with D300 and M105. Did I just get an old batch? What has changed with these pads to help the delaminating from happening? I'm not over working the pads at all and have a ton for that very reason. I really want to only use these cutting disks because I've found they cut faster and better than any of the other MF disks out there. (I have yet to try the Lake Country ones)

This isn't a bash at all, just more of a frustration and wondering if anything has changed with these?

    Thanks

      Re: MF pads

Brian, first off our apologies for the lateness of this response. Brian Hann, Manager of our Customer Care Center, normally responds here as posts to this section generate an email to him and he can more readily address issues that require replacements, refunds, etc. But Brian's wife just had a baby so he's taking some time off and I, unfortunately for your post, was out of town in Monterey working with Ferrari and other events we had going on. Again, we apologize for the delay as it most definitely NOT our intent to avoid this sort of thing.

As for the failure of discs that you recently purchased, it must have been some older left over stock you purchased. While this was a known issue in earlier production, it should have all been resolved and from all indications we have both from QC and field use by customers like you, it has been resolved. Please feel free to contact our Customer Care Center just as you did previously for replacement.

Michael, thank you for your response. Better late than never is how I see it so, thank you, seriously! I'm thinking it was an older batch as well that was left over and the fibers on them look brand new with the amount of time that they were used. Again my post wasn't used as a bash, 90% of my detailing products I use on my personal and customers vehicles are Meguiars so I'm sort of brand loyal if you will. (And that's kind of how I want it to stay since these products haven't let me down (or my customers) yet)

The disks have already been sent in so I'm waiting for them to return. Thank you again for the response and I look forward to continue using the products I love the most.
