  • Disappearing Foam

The foam has disappeared out of all of my foam pads... Total count is 16 just went outside. Washed by it's self on normal wash mode in auto-temp hot / cold setting with no fabric softner just plain detergent.

I don't have anything but terry to apply my products now....

    I'm not sure I understand...

Which foam pads? The little yellow ones for applying polish and wax?

This is interesting. We wash our little W-0004 foam wax applicator pads that we use every week in a normal washing machine on the hot water setting with a quality detergent soap, then dry them on the hot setting in the dry end never have any problems with them.

I do the same thing at home...

Just to double check, we're talking about these...

Like the one I'm holding in my hand in the below pictures,

        Are you using any bleach?

This may be a long shot...but the pads are made from foam....so if the foam disappeared, then the pad would be gone. You don't think the pads are supposed to have car wash or something in them and "foam" up, that is, make suds? Sorry if this was a stupid question, but I'm just trying to make sense of what you're saying.

                Wow!

I don't know what to say and I don't have an answer. I'll shoot an e-mail over to Customer Care and see if they have ever run across this situation before.

Maybe you'll find the foam with all the socks that have gone missing? Sorry, couldn't resist.

That may be the problem...they simply don't last real long. I noticed my foam pads broke down in the garage. We have alot of humidity in our garage and they just fall apart after 6 months or less.

I, like others, have washed these repeatedly in the washing machine...I can't imagine them falling apart from just sitting around in a high humidity environment. Either you guys got the dissolving, biodegradable version, or some seriously defective ones, or you are doing something differently than the rest of us.

Were I live, the foam does break down and just falls apart. I wash them the same way everyone else does. I am moving to Florida and was packing. I had to throw 3 pads away that were just falling apart. The only thing I can think of is the high humidity. The humidity is very intense by the coast and everything sweats. Moisture like that will break down foam and cause it to fall apart.

But the intense humidty of a washing machine has not effect? Sorry, that does not make sense to me. I don't think it's the humidty, per se...you might have a fungal infection which is exacerbated by the humidity and eats the foam....like the fungus that grows on certain screwdriver handles.
