Re: Ultimate compound
If you're looking for a polish/wax then go with Gold Class Carnauba Plus (if you want a carnauba wax) or NXT 2.0 / Ultimate Wax (if you prefer synthetic).

Re: Ultimate compound
I think the Gold Class+, and Nxt 2.0, fall in the polish/wax category. Ult. Wax and #26 cant be far off.

Re: Ultimate compound
Okay but a polish/wax would be better than a pure wax.

Re: Ultimate compound
Any of them would be fine.. Ult. Polish isnt a requirement for anything.

Re: Ultimate compound
I'm planning on hand applying uc to me 2001 grand prix what would be a good wax to use after the uc so i don't have to use ultimate polish.

Re: Ultimate compound
You can clay any smooth, shiny surface, including these pillars. That means you can also clay glass, chrome, headlights, tail lights - anything that is smooth and glossy. Keep the clay off of textured plastics like the plastic cowl at the base of the windshield, for example.

Personally, I would have gone for a milder product like SwirlX there..
*EDIT* Or perhaps even a cleaner wax would do the trick.

Re: Ultimate compound
Okay that sound right these piece often get missed in a detail the metal has not done this. I also had black wax on the a month ago so maybe residue from them.

Re: Ultimate compound
Those glossy black plastic B-pillars are usually a gloss plastic and not painted. It is very common, especially on neglected pieces, to bring up a lot of black when using a paint cleaner like Ultimate Compound. My car (different make and model but the same sort of B-pillars) have been very well maintained over the years and so don't exhibit this. But other cars just like mine that have been a bit neglected will exhibit exactly what you're describing. You shouldn't see this happening on the painted body panels of the car, unless it's really loaded with embedded dirt.
