  • Waxing

I usually half way through the winter wax my daily driver. I usually let the wax sit overnight but since it gets cold in the garage I don't know if it is a good idea. Any thaughts?

When the wax is dry, its dry. You can remove it anytime.

If it is damp in your area it will take longer to dry, and you find it easy to remove in the morning, then no problems.

Incidentally, if you are able to wash your car along the way in the winter, be sure to look at the Ult. Quick Wax to use after washing.

Do a finger test. Try wiping off with your finger after about 1/2 hr. If it wipes off clean and no smearing you you can wipe.

        Re: Waxing

There is nothing to be gained by letting the wax sit overnight. In even a lightly dusty environment you could pick up unwanted dust fallout by doing so, causing potential issues during wipe off, but in high humidity situations the hazed wax can start to draw humidity out of the air and that can lead to streaking issues at wipe off. Best to let it dry for 15 to 30 minutes, do the swipe test, and proceed according to what you see with that test.

When I do wash my car I usually do on a not so cold day but Its still pretty cold out. Even if its cold will the wax dry properly?

Yeah, just may take longer. At worst, you'll get a few streaks, but not a big deal in winter.

You can work in the sun though when it is cool, which helps.
