I think it would be Meguiar's Gold Class Carnauba Plus Wax.

It will be very close between M26 and Gold Class Carnauba Plus. But don't think the carnauba content in and of itself necessarily makes all that much of a difference. Polaris, we've seen you making several references to carnauba content in the last couple of days, even mentioning a "pure carnauba" product. You have to understand what it really means when a company says their product is "pure carnauba" or "100% carnauba" - all they are saying is that of all the wax in the product, 100% of it is carnauba, meaning there are no other actual waxes in the product. Naturally occurring carnauba is hard as a rock. If you had a bottle of 100% pure carnauba you could literally cut away the bottle and have a block of carnauba standing on the shelf, in the exact shape of that bottle. But you could never actually use it on your car. Naturally occurring carnauba must go through at least some refining steps and even then be mixed with some sort of solvent to make it useable in a car wax application. The refining process can even go so far as to create what's known as ivory carnauba, and this is often found in very expensive waxes. But even then, even in those very expensive waxes, the actual amount of carnauba will vary, and other ingredients can and will play just as important a role in adding gloss, depth, darkness, etc to a paint. There is no one single ingredient that will do it all.

Bottom line, whether you like a carnauba product, a fully synthetic product, or a mix of the two, and whether or not you can even see a difference between any of them (some can, some can't), the important thing is that you spend your hard earned money on a product that performs the way you want it to. That can mean how easy it applies, how easy it wipes off, how it looks, how long it lasts and how well it protects. There are always superior and inferior products in any price range, and people have different ideas about what makes a wax good, bad or otherwise. We work in different ways, we see things differently. Which is why on a detailing forum you can ask 20 guys what their favorite wax is and you'll get 20 different answers. But all of them, if they really know what they're talking about, will tell you that no wax on it's own can do for a finish what proper prep work before the wax is even applied will do.

I have look at pinnacle soveran wax which has ivory caranuba and the turn outs have looked great. What do you think the caranuba continent of the of gold class or m26 and what do you think is better. Thanks for the quick and helpful answers.

Just my opinion here but I doubt that the % of Carnuba in Gold Class or #26 vs. Pinnacle is going to make any difference in the "look" if the car is prepped properly. Prep is 95% of the detailing process.....I doubt whether most of us could tell the difference at all between #26 and Souveran on a properly prepped finish. Save your money and stick with the Megs!

We don't advertise carnauba percentage in our waxes because, as stated above, there's so much more to a wax than that. Choosing a wax simply based on how much carnauba is in it is sort of like choosing one car over the other based on nothing but 0-60 times; there's a lot more to a car than any one single parameter.

M26 and Gold Class Carnauba Plus, while both carnauba waxes, are quite different from each other. M26 is what we call a "pure wax" meaning that, other than whatever look it may impart, it only offers protection; no cleaning ability, no polishing oils. Gold Class Carnauba Plus is what we refer to as a "polish wax" meaning it also contains some polishing oils that help to create more gloss and a bit of a darkening of darker paints. GCCP will also do a better job of hiding fine defects than M26 will. We've seen M26 up against a wax that is priced at $1250.00 for 8 ounces and the group of 20 or so guys present at the test couldn't tell the two apart on a well prepped black hood.

Understand that this doesn't mean we're knocking Pinnacle, or higher priced waxes in general. Pinnacle is hugely popular, and rightfully so - it's seriously good stuff. In the overall scheme of things, however, not a lot of people will spend $100, $200 or more for a small tub of wax to use on their daily driver. We even know of a gentleman who makes a living prepping cars for the most prestigious car shows in the world such as Pebble Beach, Amelia Island, Villa d'Este and others, often working on extremely rare multi million dollar cars. His go to wax is Gold Class Carnauba Plus. But his level of prep beforehand is exemplary.

Okay so if the surface is preped well m26 would work well. The car is 4 years old and only driven on weekends but stored in the winter.

                    In a word-yes.

But, as SVT stated above, the prep work is where all the 'shine' is achieved. The 'wax' is essentially only there to protect.

Why would someone choose #26 over GCCP?

Because sometimes you don't want any cleaning ability, however slight.

You'll likely get more cleaning ability from moving your pad around than you will from either of those products...

In some cases it's a simple as personal preference. For many years M07 Show Car Glaze followed by M26 High Tech Yellow Wax has been a hugely popular one-two punch combo that yields fantastic results. M26, bring from our Mirror Glaze pro line is also suitable for rotary application but, admittedly, not a lot of people apply wax with a rotary. It also predates Gold Class by several years.
