Sounds good... give it a good look in the sun tomorrow, and double check. Hopefully all will be well, and you can repeat over the whole car.

Looks like you're definitely on the right track, with maybe just a minor hiccup. Going straight to ColorX, as you discovered, only remedied the situation to a small degree. That's because the marks you left in the paint with SwirlX/terry applicator were just deep enough that the very mild cleaning ability of ColorX couldn't quite get rid of them. Plus, being a cleaner wax, ColorX was most likely doing a combination of diminishing the marks and hiding the remnants. By going back over the area with SwirlX but a less aggressive applicator, in this case foam, you're letting the cutting ability of SwirlX do the work without having the negative effects of the terry cloth. While this can still sometimes leave a bit of haze in really delicate paint, ColorX should take care of that. But even with SwirlX and a foam applicator, if you use your fingertips and bare down on the surface it's still possible to create the type of marks you did the first time around. But it looks like you're getting your technique dialed in and making real progress here, so keep it up!

So what should I do now? I got a foam applicator with a grip now...do i apply less product but more force? Now that there is wax on it can I even use the swirlX? Should I use a up down motion instead of circles? Im losing confidence that I can correct this...

hey zaks z31, first where are you applying your products, indoors or outdoors? it truly makes a difference, because of the temperature of the paint. without access to a buffer is hard when you're applying polishes, because of the speed & effectiveness in the polishing process. i would suggest you use the meguiar's #6 cleaner wax,it also has polish that will help with swirls. however apply enough pressure to rub out the swirls, but be prepared for a long process;because you have to play with it!! goodluck, and hit me back up to let me know how it went.

I applied the products as the sun was going down in the shade and the paint was cool to the touch..Im just not sure if any of this stuff will work for this paint or if I should apply more pressure with less product or what..

Dont want less product, the product has the abrasives to remove swirls, scratches, etc.

Are you able to remove the worst marks if you apply more pressure? (keeping it even of course)

Im going to work on one pretty small area and see..How much pressure should I apply and how much swirlX should I put on the pad? Also should I go in a up and down motion or circles?

The only place I use terry cloth of any kind is on the rims and when I treat the leather seats. Use the foam pads and the surface should always be cool, heat from the sun or engine causes the product to dry and is not giving you 100% of what the product is capable of. Work in small areas, if the defects in the paint is not gone, stop and try again. Correct the defects before moving on.

I would apply a little pressure... then a bit more... then bit more. Check each time, see if things are better or worse or same.

The direction wont matter.... sometimes can apply more pressure in a straight line.
