  • Ultimate compound versus Swirl X

I understand that ultimate compound is more the aggressive one compared to the Swirl X. If my mini cooper S paint so happens to be "soft", would the ultimate compound damage it? I rather just choose one or the other when detailing.

Any suggestion? I really don't want to try one then the other.

Always start with the least aggressive polish/compound. If it effects the level of correction that you desire, then all is roses. If you need more correction, then move up to Ultimate Compound. It may be the case, though, that you will need to then use SwirlX or M205 to remove marring left behind by UC. There's no way to predict in advance. That's the nature of the game.

The UC wouldnt cause permanent damage either, just a matter of removing some marring.
