  • Deep Crystal System Polish

    Hello All,

How to apply "Deep Crystal System Polish"?

is it safe to apply it frequently?

after it applied I plan to wax my car using "Deep Crystal System Carnauba Wax".. is it ok ?

    I need advise.

    thanks

Dont apply it to thick, just thin coats. Wipe it around like you would a skin lotion, just massaging in. Do about half a panel, then remove before it dries.

You can use it often, and yes, a wax after is good.

"......then remove before it dries." --> hmmm.. so its different with wax..
to apply wax is to remove it when dried.. (pls correct me if I'm wrong)
if so, then I would apply it per panel

Winanjaya, regarding Deep Crystal Polish, apply it to a small area, say, 12"x12". As Murr states, massage it into the paint and then buff off immediately. Do not allow it to dry. As you become more experienced with it, you will be able to expand your work area, but at the beginning, keep the work area small. It's an easy product to work with and you'll soon get the hang of it. Good luck!

Yes, wax dried first and then remove.

What did you mean by ' apply per panel'? You would want to wax the entire car, then let it dry and remove.

per panel meant.. I will start to apply it to an area, say door left then when finished I move to another door .. and so on..

any other more instant product for polishing?

Not really, unless you get into something like a Cleaner/Wax that combines more steps.

                  Re: Deep Crystal System Polish

Winanjaya, DC Polish and DC Wax are completely different products and serve two different purposes. The polish adds a touch of additional gloss and wetness to the paint. It does not provide any protection against the environment. A wax, on the other hand, does provide protection. If you have to choose just one, choose the wax. Read carefully this article:

Those are 2 different products really, one puts oils onto the surface to help keep the paint healthy and add gloss, and the other protects the surface and helps seal in those oils.

It all depends on the condition of your car's paint. The better condition the paint, the shinier and wetter it will look when it is dressed with a wax. Waxes can only do so much. If you really want a wet, shiny look, then you will need to invest in a dual action polisher, pads, polishes, etc. Short of that, your best approach is summarized in the article I cited above describing a detailing regimen for one's daily driver: clay the car once or twice a year, use a cleaner wax periodically to remove contaminants and oxidation, keep the car protected by your preferred wax. You can also apply a pure polish, like DC Polish, to the paint to add temporary gloss, though this seems to work best on dark colored cars.

Have fun and feel free to experiment with different products.

Ok, my car is New Civic 2010 (Black), I really want to make it shiny, wet-looking, I don't know what Meg's product should I use?..

                          any suggestion?

                            Re: Deep Crystal System Polish

You already have both Deep Crystal Polish and Deep Crystal Carnauba Wax, right? So begin with those products and see how they work for you. The most important thing, as already mentioned, is for you to adopt a regular wash and wax regimen to keep your car looking good. I think I'm beginning to repeat myself. Read and re-read the 5-step paint care article I linked above. If you later want to try different waxes, then pick up a bottle of NXT and a bottle of Gold Class Carnauba Plus and compare. Some folks prefer Deep Crystal Wax, some prefer NXT, some prefer Gold Class. There's only one way for you to find out which one you prefer. But as I said, I would begin with the products you already own. Here's one method for you:

                            1) Wash
                            2) Clay (if your car has never been clayed, then this is something you probably should do)
                            3) Apply Deep Crystal Polish
                            4) Apply Deep Crystal Wax (or NXT or Gold Class or whatever)
                            5) Step back and appreciate the beauty of your car

                            Good luck and have fun!
