i have some swirl marks on my car pretty much everywhere. its hard to see especially because its a white vehicle. i bought it brand new and noticed the imperfection. (shouldve told the dealer NOT to wash my car) i waxed my car about 3 weeks ago using the 5 step cycle, so today i rinsed it off and used the ultimate quik detailer to shine it up some. so i decided to try a test spot with the swirl x. i put one layer using meguiars foam applicator, waited a minute wiped it off using meguiars ultimate cloth and repeated that about 3-4 times. no progress, so i found a tube of scratch x in the garage. did the same thing on the same test spot but maybe applied 4-6 layers "passionately" at a time before wiping it off. should i step up to ultimate compound or hire someone? lol what do you guys think?

Re: swirl x to ultimate compound? NEED ADVICE
Taping off a little section (box) and doing a test spot with a good amount of pressure (elbow grease) is also key (doing this by hand can take alot of time for the entire car). Since you already have swirlx and scratchx (there is an improved version of this now which is scratchx 2.0) I would go ahead and opt for the ultimate compound as well (all of these do not need to dry before removing). It's not always just the product, but also on how it is applied which makes a difference. You should invest in a DA (G110v2, etc) as it will out perform what your hands can do and you will achieve far better results. I would never be without one and I wish I would of got one alot sooner than I did. You won't regret it!

Re: swirl x to ultimate compound? NEED ADVICE
you know i'm having the same issue with the swirlx myself. It did take out the majority that were starting to appear, but there's one area that just won't go away. I might have to try the ultimate compound on that section and see if that does the trick.
