Will applying wax in circular motions leave swirl marks?

  • #2
    Re: Applying Wax

Applying wax in any type of motion (circular, up & down, left & right) should NEVER leave any swirl marks.

In contrast, using poor technique when applying wax may leave swirl marks no matter what type of motion you use.

As long as both the surface and the pad are perfectly clean, you'll be fine...

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

I have a question in my mind. How do you keep the pad perfectly clean?
Are those foam applicator or even coat applicator reusable?
After I wash them in washing machine, I hang them to dry. Then I just lock them in my cabinet. From time to time, I do see dust and particles stuck in the applicator.

I read somewhere "zip-lock-bags" or "baggies", but not tightly sealed as that would encourage mold growth.

Yeah, dont seal them... I've lost a few applicators...

When I used my Tin of NXT 2.0 Paste, it came with the pad and its sealed with a piece of plastic against the underside of the lid, never a mold issue.

Generally speaking for those with out a sealed tin. I keep everything in a clean detailing cabinet and sitting up and out of the way. Once the pad hits the ground. It's gone.

                    Exactly what I do.

Mainly working with a dirty applicator pad, a dirty surface or letting dust build up on your coat of wax while it's curing.

Other than that, waxing is pretty fool-proof...

I keep mine in a plastic storage drawer. I placed a Wal- Mart old microfiber on the bottom of the drawer. Stack pads, then sandwich them with another old Wal- Mart microfiber.

I agree with keeping the pad clean AND not pressing the pad into the surface helps. I find that a light touch with the thought that the wax just needs to get on the surface and not pressed into the surface helps me do a swirl free job
