  • what products should i use? (pics included) :D.

hello everyone, i'm kind of freaking out right now because i recently bought a honda civic lx in atomic metallic blue, unfortunately i parked my car at my school's garage and then when i came back, the back right door of the car looks like this:

but..after reading through lots of topics from the forum, i used color x and nxt wax 2.0 and the results came to this:

    (sorry for my reflection =x),

but i was wondering what other products should i use to get rid of that scratch and i'm thinking about using more of color x and nxt wax 2.0 to get rid of the light (white area <--scratches...even though it got much better after using it )..

    please and thank you.

Try scratch X 2.0 and if that doesn't do the job step up to Ultimate compound. Try a couple applications and put some passion behind the pad.

Hope that helps. It doesn't look that bad and I certainly think you will see and improvement.

Hello, I was wondering what's the difference between the scratch x 2.0 and ultimate compound? Would it make a huge difference if I try using the Ultimate compound before scratch x 2.0? Sorry for all the questions, but thanks so much for your advice .

UC is the most aggressive product in the consumer line, while ScratchX2.0 is less aggressive. By using less aggressive methods, you will reduce the chance of inducing micro marring into your paint.

I wouldnt see a big problem with using UC, though it is a pretty big step up. As long as ou start off applying it gently, and kind of work your way up to 'lots of passion' you should be ok.

What kind of applicator were you using?

              I agree!

While it is difficult to see just how deep that scratch really is, you can definitely improve upon it with either ScratchX 2.0 or UC. And yes, it will require 'passion' during application as leveling paint takes some effort as either product is not a wipe on, wipe off. Here is a link you should take a look at as it will show you the correct way to use ScratchX and also UC....

                Follow Tim and Andy's recommendation

If you can feel the scratch with your finger nail than it is pretty deep but it can be made less noticeable.

I would say go for Scratch-X and a Dual Action polisher...no way you can hide that scratch by using just the hand..
