One last thing can I apply products in a back and forth motion instead of circular motion?(I have heard this may cut down on swirls in black paint)

If my thinking is correct, here goes. When you clay, you are removing the bonded contaminants on top of the paint. Now by using a cleaner wax, you are cleaning the paint.

If you have contaminants on the paint. If you do not clay, you are just waxing the contaminants..

So to get the optimum results, imho claying (especially if it has not been done before) is a very necessary step.

I have a new 09 dark gray Scion TC. The paint seems perfect and I am reluctant to clay it as its only 6mths old. Rumor on the web is the paint on this model is particularly thin. I just dont want to risk claying and wind up with scratches/scaring on the paint.

          Opinions on this?

          <-- thats the paint. Nice!
