  • Hayabusa tank

Here are a few photos of my motorcycle tank. I love the Copper color of the 40th Anniversary Suzuki Hayabusa and did not want to cover any of it, and that included refusing to apply a tank cover/protector. I have kept the bike in pretty good shape (claying was not necessary but I gave it a quick once over anyhow) but after just under 5 years of riding (it's an 03 and I bought it new) and over 25k miles, the tank looked quite dull as can be seen in the photos.

    Steps used:
    • Quick Detailer
    • Tape off area
    • Smooth Surface Clay Kit (although not needed)
    • Two applications of ScratchX with a terry applicator
    • One application of ScratchX with Soft Foam applicator
    • One application of DC Polish with microfiber cloth
    • Two applications of NXT Tech Wax 2.0 15 minutes each drying time
    • Remove tape
    • Final wipe with microfiber cloth
Worked by hand, and probably still would even if I had a DA as the area is small enough. Here are the results

    Shot into the sun.

And a couple of straight on reflection shots.

Great products guys, thanks for helping to keep my rides looking great!

    Sweet color!

We've always wanted to host a Saturday Class for Motorcycle owners here at Meguiar's but so far we haven't had any interest.

Thats an impressive before and after... most folks wouldn't believe the tank was dirty at first, or could be improved.

Pretty amazing before and after. Looks good now but shame on you for letting an awesome bike get that way in the first place (just kidding).
