  • my 6" flex backing plate should fit ?

I've currently got the dewalt 849 with a 6" flex backing plate (hook and loop).

Yesterday a friend of mine came by with the Makita and I was really impressed in that, its like half the weight of my dewalt. I think I will have a much better time using this machine on door panels and fenders.

So I was going to buy the Makita 9227 and wanted to know if my current 6" flex backing plate will fit on the makita ?

will that lock nut and wrench size from the 849 fit the 9227 ?

    thanks for the input

Not having used the Dewalt this is just an educated guess, but if I weren't pretty certain I wouldn't bother

The plate oughta fit. Most all rotaries use the same size/threads. But again, it's just a guess....

The Makita has a built-in spindle lock. You just push in the button and turn the plate- no need for a wrench/etc.
