G100 and 3” and I cannot control pad direction.

Hello Meguiars community

I noticed today that a 3” Buff and shine microfiber cutting pad I have used in the past with no issues, was nearly impossible for me to control / manipulate for some reason I do not know. I tried a number of speeds and the pad wants to move the opposite direction I want to direct this. Really strange as it’s the first tine I encounter this.

the G100 works fine with a 5” Buff and shine microfiber cutting pad.

Defective pads? Backing plate?

Has this happened to anyone? Appreciate any input on this.
