  • G110V2 MF Kit.

I think I finally narrowed it down to this kit, http://www.autodetailingsolutions.ne...ction-kit.html from ADS to get me started with a DA.

My basic question is any must haves I should consider ordering with this kit? I have all the basic car wash items im just expanding into DA and minor paint correction right now.

I read that link watched all the videos i was just making sure there wasn't some common things i should order at the same time like extra pads or anything that you normally use a lot. Does that kit pretty much cover what i need to get going. Not really questions just some suggestions.

        Re: G110V2 MF Kit.

Do you really need this level of aggressiveness as a "starter" system? The DAMF System will give a cut level that can rival rotary work, and if you're just dealing with typical swirl marks it could be overkill. And if your car has very delicate paint you could be setting yourself up for a level of hazing that you'll have no alternative methods on hand to deal with.

If you're looking to use this on that new Grabber Blue Mustang you bought for you wife (nice guy!!) then you can most likely achieve everything you need with foam pads, some Ultimate Compound and M205, plus whatever wax you like.

That kit I went with for some correction I have on some older vehicles in the family. Foam pads and M205 I can pick up locally as needed I ordered the MF kit because it was harder to find around here and I wanted one anyway.

Cool - makes perfect sense, we just wanted to double check and make sure you were thinking things through fully. Looks like you were.

Before i return them i picked up 2 soft buff 6.5 yellow pads, wrong size for the stock backing plate is it ok to use these pads with the MF backing plate or better off returning them and getting soft pads 2.0 7 inch?

                Re: G110V2 MF Kit.

The same backing plate we recommend for the microfiber pads, W67DA, is the correct backing plate for the 6.5" Soft Buff foam pads so you're all set as is.

                  Re: G110V2 MF Kit.

I too am about to jump into the world of DA. I own 2 vehicles, I managed a Detail Shop for a a large car dealership for 5 years so I have a little knowledge but low on experience. Anyway back to my intentions. My one car I am most focused upon is a black in color Mazda. It has the typical spyder web scratches, nothing thru the clear scratches and just in general I would like to get it compounded and polished followed with Collonite 845. I have on hand a bottle of Ultimate Compound that I used on it last year by hand with marginal yet impressive results which is why I'm thinking that a DA with that product will get me what I seek. Anything that does not come out with the UC I could go after with scratchX. My only question is pads etc, with the introduction of microfiber pads vs foam. Separate backing plates required? For what I stated as my sole intention, foam or microfiber? One kit I'm looking at has a 6pack of foam with the DA @$190. Another kit with the MF is a lot of stuff I may not need since I already have product in hand. What say the forum?

Forgot to mention, will wash/alcohol wipe/clay brick and then start working with product to remove the defects. Will most likely wax by hand on the finish.

                    Re: G110V2 MF Kit.

I think I answered my own question in reading the sticky. Looks like I want a W8207 and a W9207, I have some glaze on hand too that I might use at some point. Need to check and see if those pads are part of the package.

                      Re: G110V2 MF Kit.

Just when I thought I had it figured out, product change. Seems that the pad numbers no longer apply to the offer, IOW, I pick 6 pads from 3 choices, black finish pad, yellow polishing pad, burgundy cutting pad. Help with combination? I'm thinking 1 cut pad, 4 polishing, 1 finish or 1 cut, 3 polish, and 2 finish? I'm thinking that the yellow polish pad is similar but newer/better version of W8207 and the black is W9207 and burgundy is I don't know but will cut far more than yellow. Help?

                        Re: G110V2 MF Kit.

From everything I read the burgundy is not recommend for DA. I found I need more yellow than black but most of my correction work ends up with the MFC5 im glad I have the MF pads in my collection.
