4" Pad Question

I have the G110v2 and want to start using the Meguiar's 4" soft buff pads. What accessories do I need to get to use the 4" pads with the DA (i.e., backing plate, Micro Hook/Loop Foam Interface Pad, Buff & Shine 3" Backing Plate & Adapter Kit, etc)?

That would be the one.

And Keebler, keep in mind that stepping down to a 4" pad on a D/A will dramatically concentrate the energy of the buffer down to a very small area. You know all that talk on the interwebs about how it's impossible to damage paint with a D/A? Don't believe it. With standard size pads it is indeed quite difficult and rather rare to see paint damage, but with the 4" pads things do change. On urethane bumper covers that do not dissipate heat like steel or aluminum body panels do, just be very aware of any heat buildup while working in tight areas. It's simple enough, really - just buff for a couple of minutes and then put your hand on the just buffed area. Monitor the heat build up often and get a feel for how quickly it does build up. Just don't get lulled into a false sense of security and think damage is impossible.

Thanks for the words of caution, however, and I hate to admit this, but I am looking to get the 4" pads for non-automotive purposes.

I have a ceramic cook top that is a mess and I started using UC by hand on it and had great results. I want to facilitate the job, and use the DA. This is a gas cooktop and the burnersmake it so I can't use the larger pads, thus the need for the 4" pads.

I have used ScratchX on the kitchen table top, UC on glass shower enclosures, and the list goes on.

What ever it takes so that the wife doesn't question my charges from ADS and my shelves full of Meguiar's products!

And who knows; I may get brave enough to try the 4" pads on the tight spots on my car.
