  • New pads on old DA?

    Hello,

I'm still catching up on reading ALL of the threads that I've missed in the past year or so and I have yet to come across someone asking whether or not the new 7" pads are acceptable/designed to also work with the old W65DA velcro attachment.

Soo, can I purchase a new W8207 for example, and slap that on the W65DA mount?

I have received quotes for M105 and M21 2.0 and an 8006 to use with my PC 7336.

    Thanks in advance,
    Brodey

Yes you can use the Soft Buff 2.0 pads on a backing plate other than the W68DA, but there are advantages to using this new backing plate:

    - it drops right into the recess on the back of the pads, making centering a snap
    - it supports the pads further out, giving a more consistent cut across the diameter of the pad
    - it flexes better at the outer edges, giving you more flexibility at the outer edge of the pad, with more consistent contact pressure

Excellent thank you. I'll be looking to refresh everything I have near the end of the season.
