  • Asking other brand DA compared to GA220

My friend is selling his UDM Dual Action for USD 100. The item is second handed but is still in very good condition.

Compared to a brand new GA220 v1 cost for about USD 320 here in my country.

I'm new to DA polishing. This is going to be my 1st DA.

So what do you guys think, is it a good offer?

Btw. does the UDM backing plate compatible with meguiars pad?

There is a time limit on editing posts, like 5 minutes or so.

So the UDM is going to be $120 cheaper than the G220v1? Sounds pretty reasonable I suppose.

UDM's are not too common, but I have heard they are solid machines. I am constantly amazed at how much detailing machines and polishes cost in other countries. I would guess most of the extra cost is due to import tariffs. Odd, since the most DA's are manufactured in Europe (Flex) or Asia (G110v2 and G220v2)

Yeah dude...it's a pretty reasonable price. Don't I know you from somewhere ca_999? But honestly, like clearly coated mentioned, tax, import, S&H would make the price jumps in non-US and non-European countries...I own a UDM myself and during that time, it was a pain to get any DA, due to limited supply. Not to mention you gotta add travo/step-up to adjust the voltage, which in my case add another $50....plus the difficulty to find BP, pads, and detailing supplies. Just imagine what you guys have in here in the US, tons of detailing supply selections that some of us only can dream to have.....

UDM, PC7424 or G100 are almost identical in feel...unless you're a pro who works more than 1/2 car daily, you can hardly notice the difference. You can find the spec comparison provided by nice people here in MOL. Can't say for G220/G110 or the new PC XP, since haven't tested them side by side, but for those mentioned above, I've tried them in person and as I said, for car enthusiast like me who just *hardly* do a full detail a year, any DA is a good investment to have

            Hope that helps somehow

Haha, remember an old quote "it is the man not the machine".

Lot of people here at MOL got lot of experience and *like you said* tons of detailing supply selection. They are the one should be called as the envy of the detailing comunity

I think it sounds like a fair price.
