  • Newbie wanting to use a RO (GMC SA515)

    Hi all,

Mods: Not sure if this is in the right forum. Sorry if its not, please move to most appropriate.

Kinda getting caught up in this whole car care thing, and as such, now wanting to figure out the best possible process to apply products using a GMC SA515 Random Orbital. My car is a 2009 Hyundai i30 metallic HyperSilver (pickup in October 09).

My proposed cleaning process is as follows:
    - Rinse car
    - NXT Gen car wash (2 bucket method)
    - Tires done seperately
    - Dry with cloths
    - Check to see if any paint defects - use ClayBar system if needed
    - Check if paint needs to be cleaned - use DC Paint Cleaner if required
    - Apply ColorX if needed
    - Ensure car is dry and apply NTX Wax
    - Allow to dry and then remove using microfiber cloths.
    - Clean windows (inside & out)
    - Clean interior

As such, I am wanting more info in relation to applying the following -

    - Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner - for use once to twice a year to really clean the paint before a complete detail
    - ColorX - Applied once every 2 - 3 months (also applied when DCPC is used)
    - NXT Tech Wax 2.0 - applied once a month or as needed depending upon weather

From what I have read, this is a rather standard and beginner process to get into the entire detailing world.

My main questions are as follows:
    - Can these three products be applied with a RO?
    - What Megs pads would I use to apply these products? (RO or by hand)

Remember I am a newbie and have no experience with this stuff. I am planning to use a GMC SA515 RO as i have researched that its pretty much 'Fool Proof' and very easy to work with.
At this stage, as it is a new car, I am not wanting to correct any finishes, but when it comes to that, I will read & ask away.

    Hope that all makes sense...

    Thanks in advance!!!

    Nagaz
