  • Differnce between these products?

I have a DA and was wondering if I can substitute #83 and #80 with any new products? What would I replace them with and what is the difference between the Paint Conditioning Cream, #105, #205, #95, #9, #66, #82? I just want to try some new stuff.
I also would like to know which of the new washable pads I can use with these products? I know there is the finishing pad for waxes and polishing pads for the stage before waxing. Isn't there a new washable foam pad that is black that can be used with the DA? And how many pads should I get since the new ones are washable?
Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

    The new washable pads are:
    Red- Cutting Pad
    Yellow- Polishing Pad
    Black- Finishing Pad

With the DA 105 is not recommended with the cutting pad.
I believe Paint Reconditioning Cream is the Detailer Line version of an all in one step product.
105- is the most aggressive compound there is, in Meguiars Line.
205- is an ultra finishing polish, in which I have achieved great results with.
95- is also the most aggressive compound in Meguiars Compound scale.
9- is a fine defect remover such as minor swirls.
66- removes oxidation while leaving a coat of wax behind.
82- removes smalls defects and minor swirls.

Depending on the condition of the paint. But I really like 205. If the paint is mild to moderate I would try some 205, on a polishing pad.

    I hope this helps.
Anyone correct me if I am wrong.

Give the M105 (reformulated for DA) and the M205 a try. Those two are the new killer combos.

The new pads (2.0) are also great. 7" diam. pads and the black ones are the new finishing pad (replacing the older tan/pink pads). All can be used with the new liquids.

My personal experience, 1 maroon, 3 yellow and 2 black would be a great start. But again it depends on what you are working on and what you are trying to achieve.

Btw, D151 (prc) and #66 are both AIO products.

      Hope this helps.

        Re: Differnce between these products?

Personally, I'd suggest looking into D151 and the M105 / M205 combo. That is a good start that is pretty easy to work with. Also will this will cut down on the number of pads you'd need to buy.

D151 has more cut than M66 and finishes down really nice, this product is overlooked way too much on MOL. M105 takes care of a lot of the bigger defects via the DA. M205 will cover up finer scratches. Hence the M105/M205 combo.

2 8000 series pads, 1 9000 series pad should get you going. Of course, if you are adding NXT / M21 / M26 you might want another pad to apply those with.

Just my opinions, in the end it all depends on the condition of what you are working on and your technique.

Pick up the *New* M105 reformulated so that it can be used with a DA Polisher and the new M205, together they are a powerful Tag Team.

Knock out the defects with M105 with a polishing pad on the 5.0 speed setting and then polish the paint to a clear, high gloss with the M205 using either a polishing pad or a finishing pad and then apply your favorite wax or paint sealant.

Meguiar's doesn't recommend using any of our cutting pads with DA style polishers although some people use and have good luck with our new cutting pad. Just be sure to read what we posted about this on this page.

W9207 - Washable Foam Finishing Pad

The black finishing pad is a softer foam than our traditional W-9000 and W-9006 finishing pads. Both are great finishing pads but now you have two choices and the best way to find out which one works best for you and is to take them both for a test drive.

If you're removing swirls from a clear coat finish and you want to maximize your efficiency and reduce your time investment in the cleaning step then more is better but theoretically you could use one pad for the cleaning step for the entire car just be sure to clean your pad often by using this technique,

Then at the end of your day clean the pad by washing it.

Just to note, used correctly M205 will remove fine scratches, not fill them or cover them or mask them.
