  • G110 and "Soft Touch"?

I see that MEQ says that one thing that the G110 has that the competition does not is "Soft Touch" . . . Can someone PLEASE tell me\us what soft Touch is?

AND please tell me IF the circular handle for the 110 is "semi-soft" or is it hard plastic........and the screw in changeable handles for the other models [7424, UDM] are they HARD plastic.

I am missing my right hand and use a prosthesis on that arm and will have to hold the unit with it and operate the "trigger" with my left hand - that is why I ask, I may have to wrap the handle in spongey tape.

not sure about "soft touch" but the G110 handle is a hard plastic handle.

    Hope that helps.

The shell of the G110 does indeed feel softer to the touch than the hard, bare metal of the PC7424, but I wouldn't call it padded, that's for sure. I believe this goes for the handle as well and from what you've said I should think wrapping it with a spongy tape may be a good idea. Actually, I'm thinking of really good Cinelli cork handle bar tape used on racing bicycles. You can pick this up in different colors from any good bicycle shop, it's adhesive backed (finish off the end with some electrical tape) and has a great feel.

I think what you might find to be a big benefit of the G110 over its competition is the fact that it is a smoother operating machine - there is less vibration with it - and it has a bit more power.

The Soft Touch Finish is a rubberized coating which gives the tool a soft touch versus a hard surface like plastic and metal. Helps you to grip it with your hand also.

Our handle is hard plastic as is the handle on the other polishers.

Glad to see you're will to tackle the challenge of machine polishing with a mechanical hand, that's a challenge and you're right, a metal mechanical hand is going to want to slide around on a rigid/hard plastic handle, you're going to want to wrap some dense foam around that handle and secure so that it doesn't want to spin on the handle.
