  • Time In Each 2x2 Square

    Hello everyone!

Just curious, how much time do I spend in each sector that I am applying 80 and NXT to? 30 seconds? 60 seconds? The paint is in fairly good condition.

It really depends A LOT of how hard your particular paint is. That variable alone could change your time-spent 100-200%.

Wish I had a better answer for you bud - but it also has a lot to do with pressure and arm-speed if you are using a PC.

If you are applying by hand, buy some Red Bull!

The M80 step will require you to work the product until the diminishing abrasives have broken down, this could be and should be a few minutes. Just don't buff to a dry buff but if you can buff long enough to buff each section moving the polisher in 2-3 different directions, (2-3 times for each direction), and overlapp your passes by 50%

(See the diagrams for direction in the how-to article for using the G100 in the How To Articles forum in Hot Topics)

Once you've done the work step, (the cleaning step), the next step, (applying the wax or the protection step), should be easier and faster because now you're not trying to remove defects, (remove paint), all you're trying to do is to coat over and work-in a layer of wax and this can be making 2-3 passes over each square inch.

      Best of luck...

For me, it is around 2 minutes buffing time with indirect sunlight. For me, that plays an important role, as the sun will tend to dry the cleaner polish before I have a chance to fully break down the diminishing abraisives.
