  • This will NEVER come out..HELP

Well yesterday, my fiance calls me up pretty upset. Someone who had rode in her new car left their bottle of MiO in behind the driver seat in the floorboard without her knowing and some of it leaked out on her way home. She was left with this:

We have tackled it with Tuff Stuff, Simple Green, Clorox 2 (colorsafe bleach), Awesome Cleaner, Simple Green, Bissel Green Machine, etc. It hasnt even lightened up or any came out. Im afraid it wont ever. The car is a 2010 Ford Fusion that we have only had 2 months. Im gonna say its going to have to be replaced or dyed.....

If none of those even changed it, you might be stuck.

But you can try the Quick Out, and/or D102 Carpet Cleaner.

I've had A LOT of success with Purple Power, maybe give that a try? Best of luck, hate that happened to your new car man.

Have you been using a brush to scrub?

Its a red dye stain. What you have been using isn't going to get the job done, as you have found out.

Dampen the area with water and ammonia. Place a white cloth dampened with the solution over the stain. Place a clothes iron on the low setting, and place it on the dampened cloth on the stain. As the red dye is drawn into the cloth, turn it to a clean side and repeat. You're going to have to leave the iron on the cloth for up to 15 minutes. It may not remove the stain entirely, but it will certainly improve it.

You may want to try some hydrogen peroxide on that type of stain.

I clean carpets also. You need stain magic or red dye remover. Find em at a chem supply house

I would try Krud Kutter found almost anywhere. I have seen pictures of it removing red shoe dye from light colored carpet like that.

                  spray paint it.

Some used car dealers do this. Be sure to buy fabric spray paint, and mask off the the area and try to blend it.

H20 aka Perioxide won't take it out. Industrial strength Ammonia will budge it a little. There are great products out on the market that will pop it out 100 percent. One is from Bridgepoint and another is from CTI. Both are call Red something or Red Zone. They are an A and B product that you mix, mist on the spot, and use a Jiffy Steamer on them. Its stinky but they pop out nice nice.

H2O is water-- I think peroxide is H2O2-- AKA, an extra oxygen molecule in the water

Krud Kutter worked on ink stains on my carpet and seats also.

They make a cleaner for removing red wine spills called "Wine Away" that might just work on this. I've used it on a dired red wine stain on white carpet and it instantly turned the red to clear.
